My research focuses on African journalism and African media systems. I specialize in journalistic practices in East Africa and the Horn of Africa, with a particular focus on Ethiopia. I am the Africa coordinator for two large global resarch projects: the Worlds of Journalism Study, and the Journalistic Role Performance Project.
