Dr. William Tayeebwa is a Senior Lecturer in the Makerere University Department of Journalism and Communication. He served as Head of the Department from March 2014 to August 2020. He holds a Ph.D. in Communication from Concordia University, Montreal Canada (2012); an MPhil in Media Studies from the University of Oslo, Norway (2003); and a Bachelor of Mass Communication, Makerere University, Uganda (2000). His areas of research, consultancy, and publishing include the nexus between journalism with peace and conflict. He has published in mainly the area of media and peacebuilding. Others include community radio, social media, media policy as well as science communication.
