The Department of Journalism at Stellenbosch University is pleased to be co-hosting this year´s South African Communication Association (SACOMM) conference. Scheduled to take place from 10-12 September 2024, the conference´s theme, ´The Politics of the Present´, reflects on the role of place, positionality and the local in communications research both in South Africa and glocally while also taking note of how the present has been shaped by various histories which serve as a springboard to multiple possible futures, both optimistic and pessimistic.
