Day 2 of the 2026 Ajen Round Table kickstarted with a lively and 2-hour practical workshop on AI in journalism by Harry Misiko, Digital Lead at the Nation Media Group in Kenya.
This was followed by the second academic track on newsroom-classroom linkages and campus media, moderated by Prof Franz Krüger, with papers by Anthea Garman, Basil Hamusokwe, Golden Maunganidze, and Musawenkosi W. Ndlovu.
A third panel discussion focused on co-designing journalism education on stress and trauma in East Africa with moderator Sofie Gullberg, panelists Kowthar Abdullahi, Andrew Osongo and Zelalem Tesfaye.
The afternoon concluded with the meetings held by the five Interest Groups (Campus Media, Gender, Research, Professional Development and Curriculum Development) and the Annual General Meeting of Ajen.
