The University of the Western Cape invites abstracts for the ICA preconference: “African and Global Media Representations of Africa”. This event foregrounds research critically examining how Africa is narrated, imagined, and negotiated in mediated discourse, both within the continent and beyond. Contributions that explore the complex interplay of history, power, and voice, and interrogating how representational practices are shaped by circulatory textual, economic, and affective systems are welcome.
