This year’s pre-conference is centered around the theme of “Repressed Histories” within the realms of media, information, and communication studies. The overarching theme for ICA 2024 is ‘Communication and global human rights.’ Discussions will revolve around the nexus of human rights with concepts of Western-centric modernity, universality, and the role of global institutions, aligning with the foundational calls for globalizing and decolonizing knowledge that underpin this pre-conference. The deadline for submission has been extended to 14 February 2024.
